About Us

Van Vleck Ranch is a full service board and training facility located at the Murieta Equine Complex in Rancho Murieta, California. We are 25 minutes southeast of Sacramento and draw clientele from throughout northern California. We specialize in hunters, jumpers and equitation for riders and owners from the novice to the most advanced levels. We also have several quality horses for sale.

Van Vleck Ranch has over 35 horses in full board and training and we also offer a day school to introduce new riders to our sport.
Kelly does the majority of the show horse and rider training with the assistance of Kristie La Freniere. Kristie and Jennifer Rond
are all in charge of lessons for the day school and for those who own their own horses but choose to ride more recreationally rather than competitively. Jennifer and Kristie are also in charge of the incredible task of keeping the barn organized and orderly. Patti Hunter is still our trainer at large who comes in on occasion to give lessons and help out as necessary. Patti and Jim Hunter also operate their own business, Hunter Farms, breaking and training young and/or difficult horses so their services come in handy to Van Vleck Ranch as well.

Van Vleck Ranch has had much success in the fifteen years it has been in business, and we credit that success to the incredible
team that we have put together. From Van who does all of the barn maintenance and horse transportation, to the girls mentioned
above, to our fabulous full time grooms/stall cleaners, Audel Hernandez and Genarro Valle, as well as our horse show staff
Victor Alvarez and his family, no base is left uncovered. In addition to a wonderful staff we are blessed with the best owners
in this fabulous sport.

Our show schedule varies from year to year; however, every year Kelly swears there will be less showing and every year
it remains pretty constant. Showing is what we love to do.
